The intent of the Law Enforcement Youth Program (Palm Bay Police Explorers) is to educate and involve youth in police operations, to interest them in possible law enforcement careers and to build mutual understanding of community service. The educational aspect provides knowledge of the law enforcement function in our community whether the youth enters the field of law enforcement as a career or not. Through involvement, the Explorer program establishes awareness of the complexities of Police Service and Life Skills.
The membership of a Law Enforcement Police Explorer Post is open to both male and female youths between the ages of 14 that completed the 8th grade to the age of 21.
THE EXPLORER CODE
As an Explorer:
I believe that America’s strength lies in her people and a trust in their beliefs.
I will, therefore, be faithful in my duties and will maintain a personal sense of honor in my own life.
I will treasure my American heritage and will do all I can to preserve and enrich it.
I will recognize the dignity and worth of my fellowman and will use fair play and goodwill in dealing with them.
I will acquire the exploring attitude that seeks the truth in all things and adventure on the frontiers of our changing world.
